2001 Jeep Cherokee Throttle Body Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Throttle Body on 2001 Jeep Cherokee?
A: You should remove the air cleaner tube at the throttle body before continuing the service or repair. Loosen and separate the wires at the MAP sensor, IAC motor and TPS. Subsequent to that, take all control cables off the throttle lever arm and after that, pull off the four throttle mounting screws so you can detach the throttle body from the intake manifold gasket, discarding the old gasket. Following installation, wipe the parts that the thyrottle attaches to, insert a new gasket and attach the throttle body to the intake manifold. Using the four mounting bolts, tighten the set until you have reached 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.). After that, connect the new control cables, electrical cables and lastly the cleaned air cleaner to the throttle body.
