How to Service and Reinstall a Fuel Level Sensor in the Fuel Pump Module on 2001 Jeep Cherokee?

That fuel gauge sending unit which is also called the fuel level sensor and the float assembly are found on the side of the fuel pump module, located inside the fuel tank. You should remove the fuel tank first and then the fuel pump module to service it. After that, take out the sending unit's electrical wire connector from the terminals and push the release tab to remove the unit from the pump module. Place the sending unit on top of the pump module and snap it securely, next, plug the electrical connector back into the terminals. Lastly, put the fuel pump module back into place and connect the fuel tank.
