2002 Chrysler 300M Harmonic Balancer Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Harmonic Balancer on 2002 Chrysler 300M?
A: Start by taking off the negative battery cable from the strut tower on the right and then unbolt the upper radiator crossmember, fan and all drive belts. Take out the center bolt after setting Special Tool 8191 under the crankshaft damper. After that, work both Special Tool 1023 puller and C-4685-C2 to take out the crankshaft damper. Hook 6792 using Special Tools C-4685-C1 (5.9 inch) Bolt, as well as the Nut and Thrust Bearing from 6792, along with the 6792-1 Installer. Pop in the center bolt and tighten it until you reach 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.). When all that is done, put the accessory drive belts, radiator fan and upper radiator crossmember back in their places and link the negative battery cable once again.
