2002 Chrysler Prowler Air Bag Parts and Q&A

  • Q: What Steps Are Necessary for Air Bag Replacement and Interior Inspection After Deployment on 2002 Chrysler Prowler?
A: If the air bag goes off, the Driver air bag, Passenger air bag, Clock Spring assembly, Passenger air bag On/Off Switch and Steering Column must be replaced, as none of them can be used again. Look at the air bag system and related parts to see if they need repair or replacement. Also, check the lower instrument panel knee blocker, the top cover and all other damaged parts and replace or repair as necessary. Roll or fold the air bag up and place it towards the steering wheel or instrument panel. Afterwards, close the door over the bag and secure it with tape and ensure to repeat this process for the air bag in your seat. Use a vacuum to clean up any remaining powder inside the car, starting from the outside areas so you don't scatter more powder inside. Also vacuum the openings for the heater and A/C and if the system was using Recirc mode when the vehicle was deployed, use the blower motor on a low speed to remove any powder particles that escaped from the heater and A/C vents, since vacuuming more than once may be needed to get the vehicle clean.
