2002 Chrysler Prowler Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Master Cylinder on 2002 Chrysler Prowler?
A: The first phase of servicing and repairing the brake master cylinder is to clean the brake master cylinder and the brake fluid reservoir well. Lock the syringe to the brake master cylinder and pull out as much brake fluid as possible. Before fastening the brake master cylinder in the vise, simply clamp it by its flange so you don't damage the seal, piston or body inside. Take out the brake fluid reservoir with the two roll pins that attach it to the brake master cylinder using a pin punch. Rock the brake fluid reservoir left to right and raise it gently to take it off the grommets; avoid prying it out. Remove the sealing grommets and then throw them away. During installation, coat the new sealing grommets in brake fluid and fit them inside the brake master cylinder. Apply clean brake fluid to each port on the reservoir and gently rock and push the reservoir over the grommets until the reservoir bottom touches both grommets. After installing the two roll pins which hold the brake fluid reservoir to the brake master cylinder, bleed the brake master cylinder and then attach it to the vehicle.
