2002 Chrysler Prowler Brake Disc Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair the Rear Brake Disc on 2002 Chrysler Prowler?
A: Lift the vehicle, use a trim stick to remove the wheel center cap and be careful not to destroy it. After that, unscrew the wheel and tire and then remove the two bolts that link the caliper to the adapter at the rear. Hold the brake caliper in the middle, turn the end away from the adapter and lift it off the machined surface. Use wire to hang the caliper from the shock absorber bracket instead of putting any weight on the flex hose. Take the brake disc out of the hub, then make sure the mounting surface on the hub flange is completely clean. When replacing a brake disc, wipe it down ensuring that you clean away its protective coating. Attach the brake disc to the hub and apply Mopar Brake Grease or an equal product to both abutments on the adapter after. Grab the caliper and fit it under the edge of the adapter, then turn it into place without harming the seals on its guide pin bushings. Put in the caliper mounting bolts and tighten them to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). After placing the wheel and tire on the car again, tighten the wheel stud nuts, following the correct sequence of tightening to half the amount required and then repeat it to reach 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.). After putting on the center cap, lower your vehicle, press the brake several times and give it a test drive to remove any outside material from the brake discs and brake pads.
