2002 Chrysler Prowler Power Steering Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Power Steering Hose for Supply Hose on 2002 Chrysler Prowler?
A: First, remove the filler cap on the power steering fluid reservoir and then use a siphon pump to extract most of the fluid in the line. Raise the vehicle, unclip the hose clamp at the power steering pump and pull off the supply hose and let any leftover fluid flow out of both. After that, get the hose clamp off the supply hose attached to the reservoir and pull out the hose from above the engine compartment. While installing, lead the new fluid supply hose from the remote reservoir to the pump and secure it on the reservoir with a hose clamp placed past the flange on the fitting. Lift the vehicle again and attach the hose to the power steering pump and make sure the hose clamp is on the pump fitting past its bead, before letting the vehicle down again. Install only Mopar ATF+4 Automatic Transmission Fluid in the power steering system, fill the reservoir to the proper level and follow the Power Steering Pump Initial Operation process. At the end, look for any leaks at every place where a hose is attached.
