2002 Dodge Durango Cruise Control Servo Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Cruise Control Servo on 2002 Dodge Durango?
A: To start servicing and repairing the cruise control servo, first cut the negative battery cable away from the battery. After that, remove the vacuum hose from the servo and afterwards take out the electric connector from the servo. Afterwards, remove the servo cable at the throttle body, observing the correct mechanisms for cable installation and removal. Unscrew the nuts that hold the servo cable sleeve on the bracket, pull the speed control cable sleeve and servo from the bracket and remove the clip from the cable bundle. Notice how the servo is attached to the bracket as you remove it. To install the servo, fit it to the bracket and make sure the cable connector's hole fits the servo's pin and use the retaining clip. Push the servo studs through the mounting bracket's holes and tighten each one with a nut at 8.5 Nm (75 in. lbs.). After that, reattach the vacuum hose and electrical cord to the servo and then join the servo cable to the throttle body. Last, attach the negative cable to the battery and after that, cycle through the accelerator to ensure there is no binding.
