How to Safely Remove and Install a Glove Box with an Airbag System on 2002 Dodge Ram 1500?

For vehicles with air bags, disconnect and isolate the ground cable from the negative battery, wait two minutes and then remove the glove box. Open the glove box only part of the way and feel inside for the bin on the back. Lower it by pressing it back and making the glove box slide past the stops. Remove the box by lifting its assembly and taking it off the hinges. The glove box hinges can be operated to install in the car and leave the glove box slightly open but not all the way. Slide your hand toward the back of the bin and gently press it in to lift the glove box to the very top, then see if it moves normally.
