2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Van Fuel Level Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to remove and install the Fuel Level Sensor from the fuel pump module on 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Van?
A: The float assembly and the fuel level sensor, which go by the name fuel level sensor, are attached to the side of the fuel pump module inside the fuel tank. To get rid of it, remove both the fuel tank and the fuel pump first. Take out the 4-way electrical connector and then remove the locking collar from the two wires that go to the fuel level sensor, ensuring you cut the lock. A small notch and lock tab hold the fuel level sensor to the pump module; gently push the lock tab out of the way as you pull the unit down on the tracks for removal, making sure the wire stays connected. Put the fuel level sensor into the tracks, position the wires where they should be, and push until you hear the lock tab click into the notch. Running the wire from one fuel level sensor through the 4-way connector, reconnect it with the other side of the fuel level sensor and lastly, attach the 4-way connector to the module. After that, securely place and connect the fuel pump module and the fuel tank.
