The fuel level sensor, also known as the fuel gauge sending unit plus float assembly, can be found on the side of the fuel pump module which is in the fuel tank. First, pull out the fuel tank and after that you can take the fuel pump module out of the car. Connect the electrical connector, then unplug it. Then, remove the locking collar on the fuel level sensor wires from the connector. Secure the fuel level sensor to the pump module with a small lock tab and notch and then swing the tab aside while lowering the fuel level sensor down the tracks for removal. When installing, set the fuel level sensor in the tracks, making sure the wires connect properly and firmly push it until you hear the lock tab snap into the opening. Reline the fuel level sensor wires in the 4-way connector and lock them with a collar, then join the electrical module to the connector. After that, reassemble the fuel pump module and the fuel tank.
