2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Washer Reservoir Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Washer Reservoir on 2002 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: To serve the windshield washer fluid tank, begin with the hood, unlatch and open it and separate the battery negative terminal next. Withhold draining of the engine cooling fluid and remove the fasteners fastening the coolant container or coolant pressure container to the top of the cooling module to pull the container out. Separate the reservoir washer hose from the in-line barbed nipple in the right headlamp and dash wire harness, letting all extra washer fluid drain into a clean reuse container. Following this, pull off the right headlight and dash wires from the connectors for the washer fluid level switch and the washer pump/motor unit. Grab the bottom of the reservoir with both hands, lift upward quickly so the locking feature comes off the radiator shroud and then keep pulling to free the three tabs from their slots in the shroud. When you install the washer reservoir, place it on the right side of the engine compartment, line up the three mounting tabs with the holes and work them into the spots before pressing down on the unit until the locking mechanism snaps in place. Plug each end of the headlamp and dash wire back onto the washer pump/motor unit and the washer fluid level switch and then put the reservoir washer hose back together. Put the coolant recovery or pressure container back into place and then connect the fasteners. Pour the previously drained washer fluid into the reservoir, connect the negative battery cable and shut and latch the hood.
