2002 Dodge Ram 2500 Brake Booster Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Bleed a Brake Booster System on 2002 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: Start bleeding the hydraulic brake booster which usually does it on its own, by adding fluid to the power steering pump reservoir. Remove the fuel shutdown relay and crank the engine for a few seconds, as you confirm where the relay is located and if there are warnings in the fuel system. After the work, look at the oil and add more if needed. Turn on the fuel shutdown relay, start your engine and rotate the steering wheel a few times from full right to full left and vice versa. To stop the accumulator, press the brake pedal five times after turning off the engine. Restart the car and slowly guide the steering wheel back and forth again from locked position two times. When all is done, stop the engine and inspect the fluid level, adding more if it's low. Should fluid foaming take place, let the foam go away before trying the last two steps again.
