2002 Dodge Ram 2500 Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Brake Master Cylinder on 2002 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: Before servicing the brake master cylinder, pump the brake pedal several times to use up the booster vacuum. After that, remove the brake lines from the brake master cylinder and take away the nuts holding it in place. When everything is done, the brake master cylinder can now be taken out. Before installation, you need to bleed the brake master cylinder if you plan to replace it. Insert the new brake master cylinder onto the booster studs, attach and tighten the mounting nuts to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). Then put the brake lines back on and set the torque between 19 - 23 Nm (170 - 200 inch lbs.). Bleeding out the base brake system is the last step in the setup.
