2002 Dodge Ram 2500 Van A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the A/C Hose (liquid line) on 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 Van?
A: Firs, detach and isolate the battery negative cable and then ensure the system is free from refrigerant. Loose the screw holding the block fitting of the liquid line into the filter-drier inlet and take out the fitting after putting plugs or tape over all opened refrigerant line fittings. Then, remove the grille from the vehicle, open the screw holding the block fitting on the liquid line where it meets the condenser, separate the fitting and once more place plugs or tape over every opened line fitting. Once that's done, go ahead and pull out the liquid line from your engine area. To install, take out the tape or plugs from the liquid line block fitting and the outlet from the condenser, link your liquid line to the condenser, tie it together with a screw and tighten the screw until it hits 22 Nm (200 in. lbs.). Put the grille in place, remove the tape or plugs from the liquid line block fitting and the filter-drier inlet, attach the liquid line to the filter-drier and make the connection with a screw, tightening it to 13.5 Nm (120 in. lbs.). Then, attach the battery negative terminal, empty the refrigerant system and put new refrigerant inside. During this step, confirm that the refrigerant tubing does not have any kinks or sharp bends, with a bend radius at least ten times wider than the hose. Set up flexible hoses with at least 80 millimeters (3 inches) of space from the exhaust manifold and tick that any connections are secure and leak-free. Checking all flexible refrigerant hose lines once every year is advised to ensure that they are working properly and are routed properly.
