2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Fuel Injector Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Effectively Service and Repair a Fuel Injector on 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Before beginning, release the fuel system pressure because, even when the engine isn't running, it still has high pressure. First thing to do is to take off the fuel rail assembly from the engine. After releasing the fuel system pressure and using the pump reset, disconnect the fuel injector rail. After that, take out the clips holding the injectors onto the fuel rail and pull out the injectors. When installing the fuel rail, apply a little engine oil to every fuel injector O-ring for smoother installation. After that, connect the injectors and their clips to the fuel rail before putting the assembly back into place. Afterward, power up the engine and watch for any leaks.
