The first thing to do for service on the power steering pump is to remove the serpentine drive belt and straighten out the hoses which you then drain. Remove the pump bracket bolt that holds the engine block, unbolt the three pump mounts from the pulley access holes and lift out the pump. Hold the pump down to release it from the engine and loosen and remove the pulley too. The first step in installation is to add the pulley to the pump and the second is to place the pump onto the engine bracket. Add the three pump bolts and tighten them to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs) and also tighten the pump bracket bolt to 57 Nm (42 ft. lbs). Attach the pressure line to the pump and turn it up to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.), prior to adding the return hoses. Next, attach the drive belt back onto the pulleys and put in the power steering fluid.
