How to Safely and Effectively Service a Steering Wheel on 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Before servicing the steering column, disable the air bag system. Unconnect the battery, remove the air bag, and steering wheel. Remove shrouds, disconnect switches and lower the column. Reinstall the components in reverse order, making sure specifications are correct for torque, and reattaching the battery after installing the air bag.
