2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Throttle Body Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Throttle Body on 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Start by taking out the air cleaner duct and air resonator box from the throttle body to fix and repair it. Unplug the electrical power from the throttle body at the MAP sensor, IAC motor and TPS. Take out all control cables from the throttle body lever arm. After that, unscrew the mounting bolts on the throttle body and remove the body from the intake. Throw away the old gasket under the throttle body. To install, first clean the parts where the throttle body mates with the intake manifold and then fit in a new gasket between the two. Attach the throttle body to the end of the intake manifold and hold it in place with the four mounting bolts, turning them to 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.) torque. You should then reconnect the control cables, electric connectors and the air duct and air box at the throttle body.
