2002 Jeep Liberty Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor on 2002 Jeep Liberty?
A: The Intake Manifold Temperature (IMT) sensor is fitted at the back of the intake manifold plenum. You should first remove the electrical connector from the IMT sensor and then carefully clean the dirt from the intake manifold at the sensor's base. Open the small plastic slide and then slowly turn the sensor counterclockwise about 1/4 turn to detach it, inspecting the sensor O-ring at the same time. Before installing the sensor, look at the sensor O-ring and make sure the sensor mounting hole in the intake manifold is clean. Put the sensor in the intake manifold and turn it clockwise until the release tab clears and then connect the electrical cable.
