2003 Chrysler Sebring Brake Light Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Install a Brake Light Switch on 2003 Chrysler Sebring?
A: First, pump the brake pedal while pushing the brake lamp switch counter-clockwise by a few degrees and then draw the switch backward from its holder. Take out the connection between the wiring harness and the switch. Start the installation by removing the plunger from its up position until it locks into place. Fix the wiring harness connector on the brake lamp switch, then put the switch into the foot brake bracket by squeezing the brake pedal as hard as possible and aligning its index tab with the mounting bracket's slot. Twist the switch about 30 degrees to the right so that it remains straight up and down. Be gentle while turning the switch so you do not injure the switch or striker. Allow the release of the brake pedal so the switch will begin to ratchet backward into the proper position. Be sure the brake lamps turn on and off properly when using the brake pedal.
