Chrysler Sebring vehicles have the Brake Light Switch that is responsible for mobilising the brake lights during operation of the brake pedal. This mechanism is aimed at creating awareness to drivers behind the Sebring that the vehicle is slowing down or coming to a standstill reducing road accidents. Although the overview does not mention whether the Brake Light Switch is standard or Billet, or whether there are several models designed to fit particular styles of Sebring, the primary function of the switch is to transmit information about braking actions. The functionality of the Brake Light Switch is imperative to relay information on the roads hence the safety of driving.

Chrysler Sebring Brake Light Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Light Switch on Chrysler Sebring?
    A:
First, push and keep pushing the brake pedal, while turning the brake light switch counter-clockwise about 30 degrees. This will allow you to pull it rearward and separate it from the mounting bracket. Take the wiring harness connector off of the switch. Pull the plunger on the switch outward and keep doing it until it clicks into position. Connect the wiring harness to the brake lamp switch, put the other end in the slot in the bracket and secure the switch by pressing the brake pedal down to its utmost point. Photo: Rotate the power switch 300 degrees clockwise so it's straight, with the arrow up and pointing to the bottom. Use just enough force when adjusting the brake lamp switch so you do not accidentally damage the parts inside. Lightly take your foot off the brake pedal and observe the movement of the switch plunger determining the need to move it in or out. After that, check the brake lamps to confirm they stay lighted when you brake, but become dark immediately when you let go of the pedal.
  • Q: How to Remove the Brake Light Switch on Chrysler Sebring?
    A:
Press down and hold the brake pedal before removing the stop lamp switch. Then, while rotating the stop lamp switch (2) to the left, move it about 30 degrees from its mounting position and then lift it back to remove it from the brake pedal assembly (6). Remove the wire harness connector (1) that is in the switch.
