2003 Chrysler Town & Country Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Fuel Rail on 2003 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Before fixing the fuel rail, let the fuel lines and the fuel tank release pressure and take out the negative cable from the battery. Take out the upper intake manifold when servicing and then cover it with something appropriate. Disconnect the fuel hose from the chassis tube and wrap a shop towel around the hoses as you do so, to reduce gasoline spillage. After that, remove the bolts securing the fuel rail and take out the fuel rail without hurting the O-rings on the injectors. Before installing the turbocharger, ensure the holes the injectors are clean and change any worn or damaged O-rings. Using a little bit of clean engine oil, grease the O-rings on the injectors and seat all the injectors by inserting their tips and then pushing the whole thing in place. Put the fuel rail mounting bolts in place and fasten them to 22 Nm or 200 in. lbs. torque. Cleans the surface of the lower intake manifold after removing the covering and finally place the upper intake manifold. Insert the connector fitting into the chassis tubes and push firmly so it clicks in, then pull the fitting to check that it's firmly in place. Once you've tested the pump and other fuel parts, disconnect the negative cable, replace it and use the Drbiii scan tool to pressurize the fuel lines and check them for leaks.
