Chrysler Town & Country Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Fuel Rail on Chrysler Town & Country?
    A:
First, carry out the fuel system pressure release and remove the negative cable from the battery before starting to work on the fuel rail. Take out the upper Intake Manifold and make sure to cover it with a suitable lid when servicing. Remove the quick connect fitting from the chassis tube and as you do this, wrap a shop towel on the gasoline hoses to catch any leaked gasoline. Following that, loosen the bolts that hold the fuel rail and then take it out gently so you do not harm the injector O-rings. When you are installing the injectors, ensure the holes are free from dirt and change any worn or damaged O-rings. Before installing the injectors, lubricate the O-rings with clean engine oil and then push the assemblies into their assigned holes until they are seated. Fix the bolts for the fuel rail onto the mount and tighten them to a torque value of 22 Nm (200 in. lbs.). When you have finished cleaning the upper intake manifold, get rid of the cover on the lower intake manifold and wipe the surface clean. Join the fitting connector from the fuel hose to the chassis tubes by pushing it in and pulling it out to check that it is well inserted. After that, link the negative battery cable again and use the DRB III scan tool to increase the pressure in the fuel system, searching for any leaks.
  • Q: How to Maintain the Fuel Rail on a 3.3/3.8L Engine on Chrysler Town & Country?
    A:
To service the fuel rail on a 3.3/3.8L engine, let out all fuel system pressure first. First, cut off and separate the negative battery cable at the battery and then take out the clean air hose from the Throttle Body. Disconnect the quick connect fuel line from the fuel rail by using a fuel line release tool. Following that, remove the upper Intake Manifold by labeling the Fuel Injector electrical harness connectors for each cylinder. Onto the fuel injector electrical connectors and with the fuel rail bolts, remove them both. When you have the fuel rail off, move it away, tag it and mark each fuel injector so that if fits the right cylinder in the engine. In the end, pull the retaining clips from the fuel injectors at the fuel rail before removing the fuel injectors from their place.
