2003 Chrysler Town & Country Oxygen Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain an Oxygen Sensor Effectively on 2003 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: To maintain the oxygen sensor in the upstream position, first remove the battery and battery tray. Take the speed control vacuum harness and the electrical connector off the servo; then remove the speed control servo and bracket. When removing the sensor, use the Snap-On YA8875 or a sufficiently powerful alternative. Thread cleaning should be carried out with an 18 mm X 1.5 + 6E tap and if the initial sensor is reused, apply Loctite 771-64 anti-seize compound or a similar alternative to the threads. When installing, first clean the manifold threads using the same tap, then apply anti-seize compound to the original sensor's threads if you can and tighten the sensor to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Link up the O2 sensor electrical connector and attach it where it belongs, then do the same for the speed control servo. Insert the speed control servo, the servo bracket and its vacuum harness and put in the battery tray along with the battery.
