2003 Chrysler Town & Country Power Steering Reservoir Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Power Steering Reservoir on 2003 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: To maintain the power steering reservoir, take the cap off and suck out as much fluid as you can using a siphon pump. On the side of the reservoir, pull open the retainer to remove the cables. Eliminate the clamp under the supply hose and pull out the hose and then do the same for the return hose. After that, unscrew the bolts and nut that keep the reservoir attached and remove it. Position the reservoir on the engine and lock it there with the supplied mounting bolts and nut, applying 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) of torque. Connect the supply hose to the reservoir and check that the hose clamp passes over the bead on the fitting, before going on to repeat with the return hose. Last, add the fluid and bleed the power steering using the proper steps in the Power Steering Pump Initial Operation Procedure and watch for leaks in the system.
