To get rid of the camshaft, loosen up the primary timing chain and secondary chain tensioner bolts. Unscrew and take out the camshaft bearing caps and then take out the camshafts and tensioner as a unit. Check on the damage and wear and replace where required. In installations, make sure that there is a proper alignment and torque.
