2003 Dodge Neon Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Fuel Rail on 2003 Dodge Neon?
A: For fuel rail maintenance, start by taking off the negative battery cable and then let out the fuel system's pressure, using the right handbook. After that, remove the fuel tube from the rail and take off the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors. Take out the fuel rail screws and raise the rail off the housing so its injector openings are concealed. Pull out the fuel injector by removing its retainer and then replacing the O-rings. Before installing, drip a little clean engine oil on the upper part of the O-ring and position the injector in its cup on the fuel rail. Hold it in place with the retaining clip. Gently rub a small bit of clean engine oil on the O-ring at the end of every fuel injector, then gently insert them into the right openings in the intake manifold. Make sure the fuel rail mount's screws are tightened to 22.5 ± 3 Nm (200 ± 30 in. lbs.), attach the connectors to the fuel injectors and then join the fuel rail to the fuel line.
