How to service the rear wheel speed sensor on 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Van?

You must raise and support your vehicle before working on the rear wheel speed sensor. Break the connection to the sensor that is attached to the axle and take apart the sensor assembly by unscrewing the mounting bolt. When it's time to install, simply clip the sensor wire securely to the rear brake hose. Place the sensor and mounting bracket into the axle housing and fasten the bolt with 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) of force. Add the wire to the sensor, then connect it to the mounting bracket firmly before taking away the support and lowering the vehicle.
