How to service the rear Axle Shaft of the 248 RBI on 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Van?

First, undo the axle shaft flange bolts and move the axle shaft out of the axle tube to service the rear axle of the 248 RBI. Clean the gasket contact area on the flange using the proper solvent, replace the old gasket with a new one and push the axle shaft back into the tube. Afterward, add the bolts and tighten them between 122 and 136 Nm (90 and 100 ft. lbs.).
