2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Van Rocker Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: How to service the rocker arm adjuster assembly on 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Van?
A: First remove the cylinder head cover and its gasket to work on the rocker arm adjuster assembly. After that, loosen the rocker arm bolts and remove the pivots, setting them aside with the same arrangement as found on the valve cover. Use the same approach for the push rods when you remove them. Turn the crankshaft until the "V8" on the crank pulley matches the TDC mark on the timing chain cover which is at 147° No.1 firing position at ATDC. Put the push rods back in place following the removal sequence and place and tighten the rocker arm bolts of the rocker arms and pivots to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.) torque in their original order. It's very important not to turn or rotate the engine after installing rocker arms; instead, wait 5 minutes for the hydraulic tappets to bleed down before installing the cylinder head cover.
