2003 Dodge Sprinter 2500 A/C Accumulator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an A/C Accumulator on 2003 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: Before servicing or repairing the A/C accumulator, consume or remove the refrigerant from its system. Unbolt the liquid line fittings attaching the front and rear liquid lines to the A/C accumulator at the top and take off the A/C accumulator fittings. Discard the fittings' seals now. Put tape over or plug the opened liquid line ports and A/C accumulator openings, then release the clamp holding the A/C accumulator to the bracket and pull it out of the engine compartment. While adding the refrigerant oil, put 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) into the refrigerant side of the system. Hold the new A/C accumulator to the front left strut tower mounting bracket and fasten the clamp. Carefully take the tape or plugs away from the liquid line fittings and the A/C accumulator ports, grease the rubber O-ring seals with clean oil and fit them to the liquid line fittings. Link the areas of the liquid line at the front and back to the A/C accumulator, fasten the fittings with the bolts to the A/C accumulator and tighten them to 7 N.m (62 in. lbs.). As the last step, drain the battery down to empty and charge the refrigerant system.
