How to Service the A/C Switch on 2003 Dodge Sprinter 2500?

Before changing the control assembly, first turn off the air bag system on vehicles with air bags by pulling out the negative battery cable and waiting two minutes, so the system's capacitor can drain. The first thing to do is remove the center bezel in the instrument panel. After that, unscrew the two links keeping the A/C-heater control fastened to the instrument panel and remove the control to get to the connectors on the back side. Disconnect both control cables and the two wiring harness connectors from the A/C-heater control. If you're installing a new control, take out the two mounting brackets first. Attach both mounting brackets to the A/C-heater control, after which hook up the wiring harness connectors and the two control cables. Be sure the control cable going to the bottom adjustment lever is connected to the front adjustment wheel for installation. Insert the A/C-heater control into the instrument panel and screw it in, fastening the two screws to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.). Once the seizing bezel is in place, connect the battery's negative cable to its connector.
