2003 Dodge Stratus Relay Block Parts and Q&A
Q: How is the Relay Block Involved in Servicing the Power Distribution Center and Headlamp/Dash Wire Harness Unit on 2003 Dodge Stratus?
A: Only a full replacement of the PDC and headlamp/dash wire harness is necessary if an internal PDC circuit or the PDC housing itself has a problem. The first thing to do is disconnect the negatives from the battery and take your time to remove the Air Inlet System (both the housing and resonator). Remove every engine compartment wire harness connector and make sure to follow the wiring instructions by looking at wiring diagrams, fixing wire and connector problems, locating and managing where the wires are installed, reviewing each connector's pins and viewing the position and type of each wire harness connector, splice and ground. Then, free the nuts and bolts holding the ground eyelets of the engine compartment wire harness onto the vehicle body and chassis and separate each retainer attaching the wire harness to the same structures. Uninstall the screw holding the PDC onto its mounting bracket and lift the PDC together with the engine compartment wire harness out the engine compartment as a single unit. When installing a new power distribution center, move all the fuses, fuse cartridges, fusible links and relays from the previous center to the spaces in the new one, using the wiring information as your guide. Set the PDC in the engine case, match the bolt holes on the PDC with the blades on the PDC mounting bracket and put the mounting nut onto the PDC. Have the engine compartment wire harness from the PDC pass through the engine compartment, connecting each harness retainer to the mounts on the vehicle's body and chassis parts. Fasten and make secure all eyelets along with their grounds to the body and chassis of the vehicle, attach each wire harness connector and then link the battery negative cable.
