To maintain the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor of a 4.0L engine, partially drain the cooling system, disconnect the ECT sensor, and remove it. Install the new sensor, screw it to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.), reconnect the electrical connection, and add some lost coolant.
