2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install a MAP Sensor on the Throttle Body on 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: On the side of the throttle body, the MAP sensor is installed and attached by an L-shaped rubber connector. Remove the duct connecting the air cleaner with the air resonator box at the throttle body before removing the sensor. After that, remove the two bolts holding the MAP sensor in place. After grabbing the MAP sensor, pull the L-shaped rubber off the throttle body and slide the MAP sensor away from it. Attach the rubber L-shaped fitting to the MAP sensor and then put the sensor on the throttle body so that the fitting slides over the throttle body's vacuum nipple. Install the mounting bolts to the MAP sensor and tighten them to 3 Nm (or 25 in. lbs.). After that, put back the air cleaner duct and the air box.
