2004 Chrysler 300M Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Fuel Rail on 2004 Chrysler 300M?
A: First, let go of all fuel system pressure and ensure you do the work in a well-ventilated place away from cigarette lights. Disconnect the negative battery cable, then take out the bolts on the intake manifold plenum and lift it off the engine. To keep debris from entering, cover the intake manifold. Take out the quick connect fitting that connects the tube at the fuel rail's far end. If connector numbers are not shown on the injector, use tags to identify them with their cylinder numbers. After you take out the bolts on both sides of the fuel rail, pull the fuel rail straight up from the cylinder head to remove it. Unclamp the retaining clips and take out the fuel injectors from among the fuel rail's pipes. Before you install the fuel injectors, put a little clean oil on their O-rings, attach the clips and then press the injectors into place. Line the fuel rail over the cylinder heads and push it tight, using 28 N.m (250 in.lbs.) as the torque for the mounting bolts. Join the fuel supply tube quickly to the fuel rail and fix the electrical wires to the fuel injectors. After that, attach the intake manifold to its proper position and secure the negative battery cable once more.
