How to Install and Verify the Depth of a Crankshaft Timing Gear on 2004 Chrysler Concorde?

To install the crankshaft timing gear use Special Tools 6780-1 and 8179 until it bottoms against the crankshaft step flange without rotating the crankshaft. Measure from the outside of the gear to the end of the crankshaft, and make sure it measures 39.05 +- .50 mm before placing the primary timing chain.
