2004 Chrysler Pacifica Starter Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Effectively Service and Repair a Starter Motor on 2004 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: For service or repair, you should start by removing the negative battery cable before you begin. Remove the upper radiator crossmember and then relocate it, after which pull out the radiator fan module and the wiring harness clip from the front mount. After that, take out the bolt securing the coolant line, the upper nut on the front mount, the upper starter mounting bolt and the middle starter bolt. Place the vehicle up and support it and then detach the lower front mount nut. After raising the engine, remove the lower bolt on the transmission bracket and the lower bolt on the bracket that holds the engine. After that, reset the front mount and bracket, disconnect the positive battery cable from the starter and detach the solenoid connector from the starter. Loose the lower starter bolt and then take out the starter from your car. To install, set both the starter and shield into the vehicle, line up the lower starter bolt, connect the end of the solenoid and a positive wire to the bottom of the starter, slide the front mount and bracket toward the engine and span the wiring harness across them with the alignment pin placed toward the vehicle's front panel. Fix the lower bracket bolt to the engine block and the lower bracket bolt to the transmission, tightening all four hex bolts. Reduce the engine, set in place and secure the lower front mount nut, the middle starter bolt and the upper starter mount nut. Move the vehicle back down, fit the upper nut onto the front mount and tighten it, add the clamp for the coolant line to the front mount and click the wiring harness clip into place. After that, install the radiator fan module, change the position of the upper radiator crossmember and put the negative battery cable back.
