2004 Dodge Durango Air Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Change an Air Filter on 2004 Dodge Durango?
A: Unscrew the clamp holding the air filter and remove the air duct from the air cleaner cover first. Remove the four spring clips from the housing cover and when you are ready, lift out the housing cover from its tabs. Remember to clean the inside of the housing first, then remove the air filter before setting in the new one. To remove the housing assembly, take apart the clamp at the air cleaner cover, disconnect the air duct and lift the entire housing from its pins. To change the air filter, slide it into the housing, line up the locating tabs from the housing cover with the housing and lift and snap the spring clips. Place the air duct back onto the air cleaner cover and secure it with a 3 Nm (30 in. lbs.) tight hose clamp. If other hose clamps in the air intake system were taken off, tighten them to 3.4 Nm and if any bolts from the air resonator housing or air intake tubing came off, tighten them to 4.5 Nm.
