2005 Dodge Durango Air Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Repair an Air Filter on 2005 Dodge Durango?
A: Before servicing or repairing the air filter, release the clamp and take out the air cleaner's duct. Take four spring clips off the housing cover which holds it in place. After that, release the cover by disengaging it from the locating tabs and take it out. Remove the air filter from the housing and clean the insides of the housing. Before removing the housing assembly, undo the clamp and disconnect the air duct at the air cleaner cover and then lift the whole assembly from where it is mounted by the pins. To put in the filter, set the filter housing into the dispenser, put the cover into its slots and push up the four spring clips to join the two together. Pull the air hose over the air cleaner lid and tighten the clamp with 3 Nm (30 inch lbs.) torque. Any hose clamp taken off the air intake must be tightened to 3.4 Nm (30 inch lbs.) torque and the same tightness applies to bolts removed from the air resonator housing or air intake tubing, both having a torque of 4.5 Nm (40 inch lbs.).
