2004 Dodge Ram 2500 Battery Tray Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair the Left-Side Battery Tray on 2004 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: First, take out the battery and then the integrated power module to work on the battery tray on the left. Open the battery tray panel to get to the retainers for the wire harness and then disconnect them from the tray before lifting the brake controller and securing it with mechanics wire. After that, pull out the left front wheelhouse splash shield, place a mark at the cruise servo's location if present and eliminate its holding screws, ensuring that the servo is kept away from the access while not in use. Battery temperature sensor should be removed from the tray, disconnection is necessary for the purge solenoid from its bracket and ground wire between the left front fender should be removed as well. After taking out the last battery tray retaining bolts, pull the battery tray from the vehicle. To install, attach the battery tray assembly and put in the retaining bolts and after that, connect the left front fender ground wire. Attach the purge solenoid to its placing bracket, fit the battery temperature sensor into the battery tray and set the cruise servo together with its retaining screw. Put the left front wheelhouse splash shield back and, if your vehicle is so equipped, the anti-lock brake controller. Then, connect the wire harness retainers to the battery tray assembly, fit the integrated power module and mount the battery.
