Before removing the battery tray, take out the battery (3) from its spot. After that, pull out the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) (5) and take the wire harness retainers off the battery tray assembly. Separate the purge solenoid from the bracket and, in the event you use an anti-lock brake controller, take out its retaining bolts to support it on a piece of wire but not remove it.
