2004 Dodge Stratus Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the Seat Belt and Retractor on 2004 Dodge Stratus?
A: Before tending to the rear seat belt and retractor on a JR27, turn off the engine, remove the battery's negative cable and isolate it. Taking out the rear seat cushion, rear seat back and quarter trim panel is needed. Then, detach the bolt that holds the anchor to the floor pan and the bolt that keeps the retractor in place on the seat support, take out the seat belt and retractor and free the rear seat assembly as a whole. For installation, place the rear seat belt and retractor over the rear seat support, so that the hook on the retractor matches the slot in the support. Install the bolt in order to connect the seat belt retractor to the rear seat support assembly, fastening it to 40 Nm (350 in. lbs.) torque. Insert the seat belt into the channel and snap the bezel to the top of the channel. Put the bolt that holds the seat belt anchor to the floor pan into place and snug it up to 40 Nm (350 in. lbs.) using the torque wrench. Always check that the seat belt isn't twisted and that the tab on the lower belt anchor is resting between the raised sections on the floor pan. After that, fit the quarter trim panel, mount the back of the rear seat and the cushion and attach the battery's negative cable.
