2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Power Steering Cooler Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Power Steering Cooler on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Start by taking off the negative battery cable and emptying the power steering fluid in the reservoir to service and repair the fluid cooler. You also need to take out the front fascia grille assembly and remove the grille opening reinforcement panel. Slide a drain pan underneath your cooler and after that, disconnect the lower hose at the bottom and the upper hose at the top of the cooler. Open the hood, securely remove the three bolts that hold the cooler and pull the cooling unit out of the car. At the beginning of your install, set the power steering cooler and connect it with all three bracket bolts. Reattach the hoses at the cooler and next connect the negative battery cable to the battery. Once more, use the correct fluid for the steering power system and bleed it, check for leaks while running the engine and reinstall the reinforcement panel and grille on the front.
