How to Maintain and Fix a Door Handle on 2005 Chrysler Crossfire?

The first step in servicing or repairing the front door exterior handle is to take out the door weather strip around the lock. Turn the screw counterclockwise, pull the handle all the way out and as you do so allow the screw to turn back little by little as you check that it does not fall off; the left front door needs a clockwise screw and the right front door needs a counterclockwise one, as both will stay in place. Then, undo the 4 mm Allen screw on the outside edge of the door and get out the lock cylinder. The first step in installation is to screw in the lock cylinder. Continue to loosen and then retighten the screw while skipping the handle pull or hold. Close the catch in the door latch with a suitable tool, then release it by pulling on the door handle to test the door lock release. Insert the weather strip into the door's channel, make sure the door and handle are working properly and you are done.
