2005 Chrysler Crossfire Flywheel Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Flywheel for Optimal Performance on 2005 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Start by easing the transmission and the starter before you service the flywheel. Put Special Tool 9102 Flywheel Locking Tool in the hole on the starter to securely block the flywheel. When your bike has a clutch, disconnect it and then discard the flywheel bolts. Following this, take off the spacer and put down the flywheel/flexplate. If you find leaking oil at the rear crankshaft seal, replace it with a new one. During installation, it's important to use fresh flywheel/flexplate hardware. Following this, set the flywheel/flexplate over the crankshaft pin and use a new set of bolts to secure it. Tighten them gradually in order of appearance, until you reach 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.) Hold the key in place and turn the bolts another 90° clockwise. Should you have one, remove the clutch, remove the locking tool and finally secure the starter and transmission into position.
