2005 Chrysler Crossfire Power Steering Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Power Steering Pump on 2005 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Take out the accessory drive belt (1) and empty the power steering reservoir (5) before starting any service or repair work on the pump. Pull the supply line (6) from the reservoir and take off the return hose and the high-pressure hose (2) from the pump. Remove the steering pump by opening the two nuts (3) that lock it to the engine and when required, remove the reservoir by pushing out the c-clip (4) with a suitable tool. If the reservoir is out, set the c-clip in using the right tool, place the power steering pump on top of the engine, secure it with bolts (3) and finish the installation by tightening each bolt to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). Reconnect the high-pressure hose (2) and return hose to the pump, join the power steering supply line (6) to the reservoir and put the accessory drive belt (1) back on. Fill the power steering pump reservoir and bleed the system by going through the first operation.
