2006 Chrysler Crossfire Power Steering Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Install a Power Steering Pump on 2006 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: The first thing to do is disconnect the accessory drive belt. After that, drain the oil from the reservoir and take off the power steering hose from its connection to the engine. Take the return hose and the high-pressure hose off of the power steering pump. Untighten the two bolts holding the pump onto the engine block to remove it. If the reservoir must be removed, press out the C-clip with an appropriate tool. If you took away the reservoir, install it again by attaching the C-clip with the right tool. Bolt the power steering pump onto the engine block, making sure they are tightened to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). First, link the high-pressure hose to the pump and then attach the return hose. Attach the power steering supply tube to the reservoir, fit the drive belt onto the accessory drive pulley and thread it all the way back. Run the pump to fill the reservoir and then bleed the system for the very first time.
