  A: Prior to working on the shift interlock cable, remove the battery negative cable, remove the lower silencer panel from the instrument panel and lift out the inflatable knee blocker. After that, separate the shift interlock cable connector and position the ignition key onto Acc. Disconnect the shift interlock cable at the ignition cylinder, then remove the gearshift knob, gearshift bezel, Prndl surround bezel and center console assembly. Disconnect the cable that holds the shift lever to its limitation position. When installing, put the ignition key in Acc, join the cable to the ignition cylinder and fasten it to the instrument panel at the retainer. Plug the interlock cable connector in and run the cable towards the area of the shift mechanism. First, join the interlock cable core to the shift mechanism cam, next secure the cable housing to the shift mechanism and make sure the cable is adjusted.
